They should open the new facility on the day of the spring game. Will alumni be able to use it?

The new extension opened today if anyone wants to take a look for themselves. Sorry I don't have pictures. Not everything is complete, still missing all the lawn chairs outside, part of the rock wall and landscaping are both unfinished, and it looks like there's still more stuff to be put in the place due to its emptiness. But counter culture and the pools are both open and being used. It's amazing the stark contrast between the old and new Lambright sections.

In driving by, I didn't notice a place for motorists to admire the scenery when the coeds are sunning like the old pool had. Did I just miss it, or is it missing this amenity?

DOTD deemed that a driving hazard, but if you rent one of the university's apartments and use a telescope the gazing should be just fine. I suspect in a few years that the drop-out rate for guys with apartments facing the pool will be greater than guys in non-facing apartments. Are there research grants available???

It's just as well. Vette doesn't let me drive anymore if she thinks we'll be driving by the pool.

Short Course pools can be 25 meters:

ARTICLE 2. a. For new facilities (those with architectural plans dated after
September 1, 1996), it is preferred that:
    1. For short-course yards, the racing course be 75 feet, [22.86 m] in length
by at least 60 feet [18.29 m] in width, providing for not less than eight,
7-foot [2.13 m] lanes with additional width outside lanes one and eight. A
minimum water depth of 7 feet [2.13 m] is desirable for competition.
    2. For short-course meters, the racing course be 25 meters, [82 ft. .25 in.] in
length by at least 60 feet [18.29 m] in width, providing for eight, 7-foot
[2.13 m] lanes with additional width outside
    lanes one and eight. A
minimum water depth of 7 feet [2.13 m] is desirable for competition.

I've heard that Dr. Dan is moving his office from the south side to the north side of the Tower!
