Thanks for the info!
Even if they do not, sounds like the MWC is going to expand and finally kill off the WAC.

''Don't be a bad dagh..."
From the MWCConnection:
This is a forgotten issue if the Mountain West and Conference USA do not merge, because there is no way to have a basketball league with only seven teams. They could do it for a few years with an exemption, but they need permanent replacement.
I don't think this is accurate, is it? I thought that six was all you needed and so 7 wouldn't require any sort of waiver. The only 8 requirement is for football. And if basketball were the issue, a straightforward solution would be to invite Denver. That would keep football/other even. He mentions Seattle and UVU, but not the strongest non-FB candidate. I think that adding a non-FB is a good idea in any event, to even things up.
Of course, expanding football strikes me as a not-bad idea in any event, because they are at the minimum for football and 9 is a better number than 8. With the WAC still in danger, they could lose some of their better expansion candidates. But I think the premise here - that they have to expand - is flawed.
University of Houston '01. Any references to "we" or "us" likely refer to UH. Cheers!
UTEP to the MWC is a done deal.
