Perfect post. Did you notice that after KM got there the FB team continued to suck? Did you notice after she won her national championship they got even worse??????
The improvement began after Briles was hired. It had ZERO/ZILCH to do with KM.
Again she didn't turn around the entire athletic department. She turned around the WBB program and built it into an amazing program. She deserves full credit for that. You and Champ trying to give her credit for turning around every sport is fantasy.
The statement was that she helped create a culture of winning. The statement of her being the first step and helping create that culture was by Ken Star. That is all we were saying. This thread is full of insecuritites. Let's just say "Great for Kim" and concentrate on Tech!
No insecurities whatsoever. I have been laughing and having fun in this thread. But it's funny you need to attach your interpretation of the psychology behind my and other peoples posts to this thread. In this thread and others it has been intimated that KM coming to Baylor possibly cost us a shot at CUSA. That without her coming to Baylor they might not have been as good as they are at numerous other sports and other idiotic things such as these.
The bottom line is the other sports became relevant and started winning once the Baylor leadership started investing money in the programs and made smart coaching hires. Example: That can be duplicated here if we do the same thing. And if we reinvest and start pumping money into WBB we will become dominant in WBB again. And after they start winning it won't be that because Sonny Dykes created a winning culture in FB, WBB can now flourish. It will be because, LIKE BAYLOR, the University made a committment to winning by investing cold hard cash into the programs. Use your heads people.
She has done one hell of a job turning around their WBB program. She has taken them from a team with a losing program to THE dominant team in the country. Why can't that be good enough for you people?? Trying to attach things that she had nothing to do with to her resume just takes away from the great things she REALLY has done.
I have never said and will never say that she cost us a shot at CUSA. Us not having a program that is a national power does hurt us, though. We need it in and it is within reach with all the 3 biggies - MBB, Football, and WBB. Let's get it done! bcs busters this year in football, NCAA tournament in MBB, and 2nd round WBB would be a huge step!
No what I was saying was that she took a winning mindset into that program, she took what they didn't have there before she got there, she took excellence with her to Baylor. They were able to model what they wanted all programs at Baylor to be after the Blue Print that KM brought with her. She didn't and doesn't know how to be anything but a winner.
She took the blue print for success to Baylor in 2000 and when Starr says that Bayor University would be devestated if she was not at Baylor he isn't just talking about Womens Basketball.
They (WACO) loves her far beyond her coaching ability, she stood up for Baylor during the whole men's basketball murder scandal and was a beacon of hope that people bought into. She was and is their ambassador.
