This guy could have been a great player if he would have done the right thing. He was truely fun to watch.
Shaw is a member of my Tech all-time team, and he played all of ten games for us.
My dad has always told me about Shaw and he's always intrigued me. A florida State defensive end that came here and wrecked shop. Thanks to tbonne I can actually see his highlights! How big was he? I'd guess 6-3 250
It was also good to see my Sunday School teaching buddy Warren Brady in ther (No. 93). His son Wes is quite a good player.
Whatever hapened to Eric Shaw? Where is he today?
HD
He has been reincarnated and we call him "IK"....
I Googled his name and got this (no idea what year it was printed):
Eric Shaw
Assistant Head Coach
Defensive Coordinator
Eric Shaw is in his seventh season with the Lafayette Generals. He is the assistant head coach and will coordinate the defense. He will also work closely with the Linebackers. He is a native of Pensacola, Florida where he was an excellent prep athlete. He was offered a full scholarship to Louisiana Tech University where he was a stand out member of the football team. He then joined the Winnipeg entry of the Canadian Football League for a year before becoming a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. He played three years for the Bengals. Eric is employed by the Fayette County School System at Lafayette High School. Eric and his wife, Angela, have seven sons: Enrique’, James, Eric D., Eric Jr., Enrico, Evan, Ean and a daughter, Erica. Angela is the owner and operator of Shaw’s Child Care.
Also found this (from 01/2010):
Lafayette all-purpose back Eric Shaw, a member of The Courier-Journal's first-team All-State team, has given a verbal commitment to Eastern Kentucky University.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Shaw was also getting a lot of interest from Murray State.
As a senior, Shaw ran for 1,068 yards and 11 touchdowns, caught a team-high 26 passes for 366 yards and a TD and averaged 10.2 yards on punt returns and 23 yards (with two TDs) on kickoffs. On defense, he made 70.5 tackles with four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. As a junior, he had almost 1,300 all-purpose yards and 12 TDs and also led the Generals in tackles. He finished with almost 3,500 all-purpose yards the last two seasons.
Shaw's father, Eric Sr., played at Florida State and Louisiana Tech and three years as a linebacker with the Bengals. His brother, Enrique, played at Michigan State.

Thanks for that video. That guy was a freak.
I have said this before on here....when that freshman came out in his high top shoes he was unbelievable...fun to watch..destoyed double teams..
Brady told me the coaches gave Shaw the freedom to to line up anywhere and "go get the ball". He said Shaw would come to him at the line of scrimmage and say "move inside" or "move outside' and he would go after the ball.
