What a douche
What a douche
I don't envy their AD right now. The press corps sure is giving him the business.
Petrino has been placed on leave until the AD can review his case. I was just thinking that why couldn't that have been me driving along when Petrino had his wreck. I would have helped him take care of business under one condition. Arkansas has to sign a contract to play a 4 game series against La Tech and 2 of those have to be in Joe Aillet and the other 2 in LR. He also would not be allowed to recruit in La during this 4 years.
Petrino also said in a written statement that he was having an inappropriate relationship with the lady. I don't think he survives this. He hired her on March 28.
Petrino's biggest problem is that last week he hired the 25 year old woman he was having an affair with. That brings all kind of legal issues into the mix. Misuse of state funds being one. The young lady was engaged to be married to an Arkansas swimming coach. This is a real stink. Look for Petrino to be slapped on the wrist and lose some of his $3.53 million dollar salary for a year, but that will be it. Now as for how his wife treats him, that won't be a slap on the wrist I imagine. Anyway you look at it, this is the beginning of the end for Petrino at Arkansas. How does he go into a recruits home and make the statement, "you can trust me".
I think he might've forfeited the trustfulness after he straight up ran out on the Falcons. Kinda low-rent, imo...
Sounds like they have everything taken care contractually if they want to can him. From the article:
For the record, this is the general outline of Petrino's $4 million-a-year employment contract. It says that he may be terminated for "...engaging in conduct, as solely determined by the university, which is clearly contrary to the character and responsibilities of a person occupying the position of Head Football Coach or adversely affects the reputation of the University or UAF's Athletic Program in any way." (emphasis mine)
She is(now was?) engaged to an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Not exactly the kind of guy you want to be ticking off.
Anybody want to give odds on whether there has been any phone calls from Jeff Long to Jonesboro over the past 24 hours? Whether he stays or goes may very well rest on a decision made by the ASU head coach. Talk about ironic!

POST FROM HOGVILLE: "When you are an offensive genius, you get a job in the NFL. When you get a job in the NFL, you lose games. When you lose games, you take a job at Arkansas. When you live in Arkansas, you get bored. When you get bored, you go looking for strange. When you go looking for strange, you find strange. When you find strange, you take it for a ride on your motorcycle. When you take strange for a ride on your motorcycle, she reaches around and grabs your junk. When she grabs your junk, you wreck your motorcycle. When you wreck your motorcycle, you end up at a press conference in a neck brace. Don't end up at a press conference in a neck brace...switch from cable and upgrade to DirecTV."
Then switch to Geico!
Maybe he was just trying to coach her in some specialized recruiting "techniques" he would like her to utilize with "prized" recruits. Remember, in order to be successful, coaches must teach each position and do so with passion...and they must do it 20 miles south of town.
