    Re: TECH's big announcement

I could be wrong with this, but depending on what time UNT's "Big Announcement" is scheduled, ours may be abbreviated slightly to allow our Special Guest time to get back to Denton for that...

Again, just a thought...I don't know what time UNT's party kicks off

I was told a number they expect from experience. Was also told that the no food decision was made because they felt they may be more criticized if everyone was not quickly fed. So I suggested they get organized with enough people to do the job. The comeback was that the " committee" had decided that it would be too difficult. That's just lazy.

I really wish we were taking better advantage of this great opportunity. On radio today, Aaron Dietrich was talking about the great "party" Tech is throwing Friday. But having heard the actual plans, it really doesn't sound like that much of a party.

    And it should be.

I was thinking at the minimum stale popcorn and pepsi...

Put your vendors to good use in a situation like this -

It's not that difficult to have cookies, chips, nuts and soft drinks....

I suggested popcorn at least and I was told that was something they could do. Hopefully they will.

I'm glad this refreshment/food thing has come up to give us something to bitch about since we can't bitch about having to join the Sunbelt with the ULX twins. I'm thinking about getting down there early so I can set up out there on the steps and hand out cokes and fish sandwiches.

How anyone can see this schedule and still think the MWC and CUSA aren't working together on this in some capacity need to get their heads examined.

    Obvious collusion is obvious

Maybe you can just provide enough food for all of us?

Wouldn't matter. They said spending for the food was no issue. They said it was the logistics of feeding everyone promptly that concerned them. Isn't that why we have a food service?

    Re: TECH's big announcement

As the locals on here know, I have been to just about every PRESS conference that was open to the public at Tech in the last 15 years - and at everyone there has been "snacks and drinks"...

Logical people would tend expect the same at something being billed as the "biggest event" EVER -

Easy. Two or more LARGE pots of red beans and rice/gumbo/etouffee/some other easily dispensed single-bowl food item. Quick, good, and easy.

OMG... ya'll are right that some people will show up for the possibility of cookies and punch but really I hope we don't over think this and if someone asks you where that stuff is say "Really? That's what you came for?"

I wish I could be there.

Then again, I've been to games and I know who shows up to these things.
