He's upset by our admins release of "Neither University nor athletic department officials will comment further — on or off the record — until the press conference on Friday,".
Maybe we are told not to release anything until Friday by CUSA officials. None of the other schools are saying anything publicly.

He has managed to get Tech coverage into The Times during periods when it appeared their editors were pretty much dictating Tech would get none. Overall, he has been a plus for us on that staff.
But this tantrum is ridiculous. Obviously, all invited schools have been given orders to make no official announcement until a certain time. That may be silly -- I think it is -- but if I were BVdV I would not go against that order, either.

Maybe so. He certainly had convinced many Times reading Tech fans of that. However I've never forgiven him for the damage he did prior to Dooley sucking up to him and now that nobody at Tech is kissing his feet he is back to his old ways of trying to hurt Tech.
This is really disappointing! And coming from Jimmy makes it even worse.
That's what gets me about Watson's article. So far, only UTSA has done anything public and that was due to an open meeting notice that had to be posted and might have been better worded. Has he forgotten the Texas A&M announcement that got so horribly screwed up by Baylor? Or the never ending story that was the Mizzou to SEC announcement? Or the WVU is in, out, in, out of the SEC.....wait a minute, it's the Big 12?
I would not be surprised, in fact it wouldn't take a wizard to figure out, that this situation with CUSA has gone through some if not a few gyrations.
Good grief Jimmy. The National Press hasn't done such a good job with the conference realignment story and believe it or not CUSA is a national conference. Tech isn't dealing with Benson & the WAC anymore. Banowsky is adept and no nonsense. He said 'keep it quiet until the appointed time' and Tech did what we should do. If you haven't noticed that's pretty much how Tech operates.
La Tech is having to step up to dealing on a bigger stage. Perhaps the Times has a lesson or two to learn too.
Just because Tech officials didn't give you the inside scoop no need to write an article that reads like a pouty teenager's Facebook status...We suppose the idea is to get as many Tech fans into the bowels of the TAC to wait with bated breath for the word "C-USA" to come out of someone's mouth. Whatever.

Very disapointing article. He certainly comes across as pouty. The LSUS comment tells you he is uniformed on that issue as well. Big time sour grapes from JW.
