Somebody is disputing Marsala's testimony of the BoR blocking new LSUS programs. He said the BoR gave them initial approval, but LSUS never followed through with bringing them back for final approval. Shame on them. He said LSUS can't just apply to be a doctoral university. They have to earn it.
That's just more evidence that LSUS doesn't know what they are doing.
Rep. Edwards says that it's troublesome that Marsala and that guy have irreconcilable contradicting testimonies. He doesn't know what to do.
The guy says that Marsala initially supported the merger, and then 2 weeks later he was vehemently against it.

That was the BoR head I think, basically called out Marsala for supporting this initially and now flipping....
Also, calling out that BoR did not block LSUS but that LSUS hasn't followed through...
Rep. Patricia Smith appears to be really concerned about the costs. She said that the Southern U System didn't know about the amendments.

She's actually asking some very good questions about "legacy costs", etc.... She wants to confirm that there won't be any surprise costs over the 3-5 year merger period.
