    Unpresidential

This reeks. obummer actually taken part in a History Channel International (H2) documentary on the killing of OBL. A sitting president? Unprecedented...unpresidential. Of course, his appearances on the nightly comedy/talk shows as a sitting president is also unheard of....oh wait, I think klinton did that too. Another self-serving clown.

But, for obummer to actively participate, being interviewed on an event like that, really ever! but especially while still POTUS.....wow! Self-serving, grandstanding.....unbelievable.

By contrast, President George W. Bush still refuses to discuss many of his accomplishments, deferring instead to "allowing history" to judge him, as he did tell Chris Wallace in an interview about a year ago. Wallace even pressed President Bush offering him an opportunity to respond to his critics on some issues. But, Bush, being presidential, refused to, saying it's not appropriate for a former president to attack critics like that. Criticism, Bush said, comes with the territory of being in politics. Pure class.

But, obummer, commenting on this H2 documentary about how tough it was that he had to make this decision, how he watched as the one helicopter hit the wall and crashed, etc...wow! I don't think this would have been appropriate for a POTUS to have done even 20 years after the fact. Let alone now, as a sitting president.

Yeah, I know, the killing of OBL is the one positive thing that has occurred on obummer's watch. The ONE thing...only.

    Little wonder this happened:

obummer is a stain on the history of this nation. A major embarrassment. 100 years from now Americans will look back and ask, what the hell we're they thinking back then??? Just like many still shake their heads over Germans falling for the BS of Hitler.

    obummer sucks.

There is no doubt of his character or his purpose. The real sad part is that he got elected at all and may well get a second term. As a country we apear lost and a large number of the voters are looking for somthing for nothing and want to continue to rob the, growing minority, of hard working people to pay for them to do go through life doing little to nothing and be taken care of. The bulk of the politicians are almost as bad wanting to push the problem down the road to our children and their children.

Yep, if enough idiots give him one more term, that should pretty much do it.

To make matters worse, the documentary sucked. The whole thing was, essentially, a re-election campaign commercial for the PPOTUS. If anyone wants to know how much revising his people do on facts, watch it. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

Sadly, it is going to be a long time before we have a real, factual documentary on the OBL raid. Our men and women in uniform deserve better.

By stark contrast, General Robert E. Lee said, "They do not fight for us, they are here on their own accord."

This was reported by a staff officer of General Longstreet during a meeting several days after the Battle of Gettysburg. While reviewing the casualty list, which would eventually reach 28,000 for the Confederates, and staggered by the enormous human cost, Longstreet lamented they (meaning the Confederate commanders) had been responsible for this dreadful loss. Longstreet went on to say, they (commanders) owed it to the average soldier to be more conservative in their tactics to reduce casualities. The soldiers trust us and we are responsible to honor that trust, Longstreet said.

Lee's statement (above) takes on added meaning when you read one his letters he had written the previous year at the 2nd Battle of Bull Run, where he stated (paraphrasing): I would never be so presumptuous to believe the men fight for me. I am but one man, unworthy of such adoration. No, these men fight for what they believe in, for their country, for their homes, for their lands. And that is the blessing. I could not bear the responsibility for these men otherwise.

One wonders whether, if every single word General Lee ever said was recorded and played back on the 24/7 news cycle: might he have made some statements he would later regret? Or that were misinterpeted? As public figures in the modern era, everyone has these moments. If you don't pick apart the words of the president and instead, take them at face value, our women and men DO fight on his behalf--he is the commander-in-chief.

Go ask any soldier if he's fighting for Obama.

At face value, yeah, it's bullshit. At face value, it means exactly what is implied: the military is the 13th legion and he is Caesar.

I will put it like this, there is a fundamental reason the military has always sworn loyalty to and follow orders of the government, and not an individual.

I understand what you mean, and yeah, all of our historic figures would be taken to task by the modern 15-second soundbite, short attention-span society in which we live today.

But, in this case, many are making the connection between that comment taken at face value and the known narcissist quality of obummer. And that is exactly the rub. Many (most) of our current military were in prior to obummer being elected CIC. Obviously, they did not join "on his behalf." They did so to serve their nation. And they fight for the same reason. Not for him. General Lee nailed it perfectly way back in 1862, and that rings true today as well.
