He lost his dad his junior year. Probably something related to that.
Not to be picky, but I hope they put out a numerical roster before the season.
Not to be critical of Dirk, but he wasn't THAT far from home.
I think he just didn't want to play anymore. That has to be a traumatic experience to lose your dad at that age.
Apparently the NCAA is not granting Ryan Williams a medical redshirt even though the WAC approved it. He's not listed on the roster, and he apparently entered the NFL draft according to ESPN.com.
We're gonna have a pretty green secondary this season.

Dirk's mother was sitting in front of us at the Spring Game. She was wearing a jersey that had Tanner on the back. Dirk got to the QB for a sack. After the sack...she was hollering louder than anyone....said that was her son. Seemed like everything was fine at that point.

I asked Coach Dykes about the situation with Ryan at the event in Baton Rouge. He responded that the coaches were NOT very confident that RW would be granted an extra year by the NCAA. Stinks, but it is what it is.
Coach said that the first medical redshirt at Auburn(?) could not be documented as being for medical reasons because Auburn didn't have good paperwork on it.
