Some golf courses are old school like that. Like Augusta.

When they were broached about the subject originally and the bowling team was created the situation occurred like this:

Tech: Hey, we would like you to be the official home of Tech golf

    SC: ok that will work.

Tech: we would like to add a women's golf team.

    SC: no.

    Tech: Why not.

SC: We are not going to allow "x" number of potential tee times to be absorbed by two teams practicing on the course at different times etc.

Tech: Maybe we can house the men at SC and the women at another course.

Potential Title IX lawsuit: Nope there is not another local course that has equal facilities to SC and therefore housing your women at another course is creating a second class athlete scenario... equal opportunity

    Tech: Bowling it is........

As relayed at the time of all this going down to me by people on both ends of the issue.

And that's the story of how we ended up with two women's teams on campus with bigger balls than the men.

That makes more sense. They have a female professional at Squire creek, or at least they used to.
