These rumors are all coming from the same place. WVU.
That kind of doesn't make sense right now. Then again there is the Big East.
Can't we have just one day of peace in the Conference Realignment World in Crisis without any rumors breaking out?
Much more likely that ND and the one and only UL would be the pair to make the move.
yawn....wake me when this is reported by someone with a better track record.
as for now....if ODU turns down CUSA...who gets seat #14?
Notre Dame will never go to the Big 12 -- all of their students are from the east coast, which is the reason they sit their athletics in the Big East in the New York market... Big 12 does nothing for them, it's not a fit culturally or religiously.
FSU is not happy in the ACC and had a budget shortage, they're tired of Tobacco Road and the ACC is not a football conference:

Mr SEC says its done by june: http://www.mrsec.com/2012/05/here-we...chat-heats-up/
Note the links... there's a whole lot of speculation going on.
Oh wait, why do we care...sorry...
We're in CUSA! Home at last!
Never say never!
Everything is possible!!
This is the only thing I could find on where ND students come from:
"The Notre Dame student body consists of 11,733 students, with 8,371 undergraduates and 3,362 graduate and professional students. Around 21–24% of students are children of alumni, and although 37% of students come from the Midwestern United States, the student body represents all 50 states and 100 countries."

I could see a possible benefit for CUSA (oh man, how I love saying that!!!) if there were another round of raids and the ACC/BE ending up merging. There would be one less conference ahead of us in the pecking order. For example if FSU and Clemson jump ship, SEC takes VT and NCSU, and B1G took UVA and UNC, things would really be shaken up. Perhaps more would jump as well. Merge the remaining members with the BE and there is still a decent enough ACC and no BE (football-wise) to contend with. Heck, maybe some of those BE schools that jumped recently would end up back in CUSA/MWC. Of course this presumes that no more schools gets picked off in CUSA or MWC.
But I do think that realignment is not over, not by a long-shot.
It would be nice if the conference shakeups would cease and desist for a while. Now that we're "home" in CUSA, we don't need anymore schools jumping off ships. Let it settle....please.
