CNN has launched an all-out campaign against the 74 million Americans who voted for President Donald Trump. The network ties the right to "the Klan," "Nazis" and "terrorists."
Network anchor Jake Tapper even slammed Florida Rep. Brian Mast, a Republican congressman who lost both his legs fighting for his country and questioned his "commitment" to democracy.
For CNN, anything goes now to destroy their political opponents — anyone who stands in the way of complete leftist control. An anchor mocking a wounded hero, another comparing the right to the Klan and an analyst repeatedly referring to Trump as "the motivational and tactical leader of an organized terror movement."
That’s just one week on CNN. Heck, it might as well be one hour.

It’s hard to tell which one of those was the worst outrage. But since anchor Jake Tapper represents himself as pro-military, let’s start with him showing his true colors. He blasted Rep. Mast saying, "A Republican from Florida, who lost his legs, by the way, fighting for democracy abroad. Although, I don't know what his – I don’t know about his commitment to it here in the United States."
Mast was furious, as well he should be. "I lost two legs for @jaketapper's right to say whatever the hell he wants," he wrote, then added, "but that free speech also protects the Republicans he is so eager to condemn for asking Constitutional questions about the election."

If Mast voted against certification, Tapper’s comment was correct. Mast abdicated his Constitutional duty.
I haven't looked this up, but I heard that the entire Congressional Black Caucus voted against Trump's certification in 2017, plus some other Dems. I guess they also abdicated their Constitutional duty too?
Not that I agree in either case. Seems to me the Constitution provides for Congress to certify or not certify the results of a POTUS election, each member of the Congress voting as they see fit. I don't think they are there merely to rubber stamp the results, because if they are, what's the point of the exercise?

You could read the constitution and see that what “seemed” to you is wrong:

DOJ Official: No ‘Direct Evidence’ of Plot to Kidnap, Kill Lawmakers in Capitol Riot
Michael Sherwin, Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, said Friday that there is no “direct evidence” to suggest rioters planned to capture or assassinate lawmakers during last week’s deadly siege of the U.S. Capitol.
“We don’t have any direct evidence of kill capture teams,” Sherwin told reporters during a press briefing.

The comments by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael Sherwin appeared to be an effort to walk back claims federal prosecutors in Arizona had made in a court filing late on Thursday, in which they alleged there was evidence that rioters intended “to capture and assassinate elected officials.” […] [F]ederal prosecutors had made sweeping claims about the ongoing investigation in a filing as they asked a judge to detain Jacob Chansley, an Arizona man and QAnon conspiracy theorist photographed wearing horns as he stood at the desk of Vice President Mike Pence in the chamber of the U.S. Senate.
As of Friday, 98 criminal prosecutions have been made in connection to the riot, while 275 people are under investigation, according to Sherwin.
During another part of the news conference, FBI official Steven D’Antuono called on suspects linked to the riot to immediately turn themselves in to law enforcement.
“To those of you who took part in the violence, here’s something you should know: Every FBI field office in the country is looking for you,” D’Antuono stated. “As a matter of fact, even your friends and family are tipping us off.”
Earlier Friday, Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) called on “every American” to reflect on reports that the rioters intended to kidnap or kill lawmakers.
“That’s wrong. Every American needs to understand what the Department of Justice has just made public: Investigators have strong evidence to suggest that some of the rioters who stormed the United States Capitol planned to kidnap and possibly assassinate the Vice President,” Sasse said in a statement obtained by The Hill.
Sasse has yet to weigh in on Sherwin’s statement.

I will take this at face value and offer this then...
the entire Black Caucus and the other Dems who FOUR times refused to vote to certify the results should be...kicked out of Congress? or whatever an appropriate "punishment" should be. That is, if someone tries to hold those GOP congresspersons accountable for doing the same exact thing.
Sure, they too did not follow their constitutional duty. But there is also a difference in that, in the past, the president had clearly conceded the challenge at that point, so the vote wasn’t playing into some made-for-tv constitutional crisis moment.
