A video released a day after the Islamic terror attacks in London show a CNN crew staging a scene with Muslims holding signs saying “ISIS Will Lose”.

The same crowd was used for the following AP post it appears – note the man with green around his neck in both pictures. This is how fake news spreads.
CNN’s Abu Dhabi Managing Editor, Becky Anderson’s original video was posted to her official Twitter account where she called the London terrorists a ‘handful of twisted fools hell-bent on taking lives’.
Below is a video of the behind-the-scenes work CNN did to stage the photo-op with Muslims holding up signs that read, ‘ISIS WILL LOSE’.
The original post came from Mark Antro, a Londoner who captured the video:
It looks like they are organizing them so that you can see each of the signs for a shot that is designed to be a message for Isis. Are you suggesting that these Muslims don't agree with the messages that they are holding? I haven't seen any evidence for that in the video. What part of this news is "fake"? That CNN didn't find them standing perfectly arranged at that backdrop? Oh, the horror! I am being deceived! Lol
I can't tell if you seriously don't know what's wrong with this or not.
Spell it out for me.
I swear. Sometimes that alt-right stuff that you guys consume flares up your tempers and you guys can't even rationalize what you are so mad about. You are overstimulating your amygdala when you read these hack pieces.
Lets see if I can nudge you there on your own.
lets trade out a few items in the story to illustrate the point:
1. Swap AP for Fox News
2. Swap the signs for some supporting Trump (you pick the recent action they are supporting)
3. Swap the headline for something like this: " Trump supporters gather in London as international support for __ grows"
4. Other than that everything is the same. Same people, same picture.
Nothing untrue above but is any of it misleading?
Nothing misleading about that, except for maybe your headline. What was the CNN headline?
According to all accounts those protesters were already in the area with their signs and the police moved the cordon so that they could stand in front of the street and be filmed by the media. The exact location where they were standing was not the point - the fact that they were expressing their views through the signage is.
Don't you think the right wing media is getting a little spooled up over nothing?
It is kind of like when ESPN comes through tailgate alley and gets the people to huddle up and look at the camera for the film reel. No one thinks, "cool spontaneous footage of a well-aligned group of fans". They think "those are some LaTech fans enjoying some tailgating". This really is a nonstory and it just shows how crazy the alt-right has grown and their need to distract people from the big news of the moment that reflects negatively on their gold (or orange, rather) baby.
So what's wrong with the headline?
"As international support for __ grows". You didn't say what the blank was, so that part could be misleading.
That was because you were supposed to fill out what they were supporting in part 2. It's one of those choose your own adventure deals.
To spell it out for you, this is misleading by omission. By bunching the supporters up together and taking the picture with other unrelated pedestrians in the background it gives the illusion that this is a large gathering. It's kind of like when ESPN takes a close up crowd shot at a football game of a small section of full stands because "it looks better on TV". Nobody says anything usually because we benefit from it and in the grand scheme of things its unimportant. The viewer simply thinks, man Louisiana Tech has a good crowd there. The ones who get pissed are the ULM's or ULL's of the world who say "people might interpret this as Tech having more support than we have". You can swap the three schools and do some searching and find plenty of examples of people bitching about this including Tech fans.
In the case of "news" its a subtle way to misrepresent the amount of support something is receiving. Particularly when it aligns with their worldview. As an isolated indecent it isn't the end of the world. As a pattern it is a problem.
How many people did you think were there when you saw the CNN footage?
Haven't actually seen any "footage that shows the crowd. Only still pictures. Curious if they were actually bussing the same group around to different locations to stage crowd shots. That's another level if so.
