This certainly isn't exciting, but this is probably a safe and smart move by BVDV.
BGSU should provide two wins for us.
If there is eventually a merger between C-USA and the MW several years down the road, we are looking at playing either MAC or Belch schools in home-and-home OOC series.
Texas State is the only Belch school I would like to schedule, but we'll be playing 4 Texas teams annually in C-USA.
Bowling Green is not a threat to change conferences anytime soon so we won't be stuck with last minute openings and forced to schedule money games or UL-U-Pick-Em.
If there are 8 conference games, the schedule most years will fall this way....
4 home C-USA games
4 road C-USA game
2 home-and-home FBS non-BC$ series, 1 home and 1 road each year
1 FCS home game
1 FBS BC$ money road game
I learned the difference in the two Bowling Greens in 1969 when my car broke down in Bowling Green, KY and I had to spend two days there. I thought about hiding out there because I was on my way back from W. Virginia for my draft physical.
INteresting graphic of the MAC.
I like how their conference is geographically tight knit, with one or two exceptions.
Not me. No more BORING football. Thank goodness for Livas' 2nd quarter kick return for a TD. Otherwise, that Indy Bowl game wouldn't have had any exciting plays at all.
Looking back, that game was one of the most boring football games I've ever seen. I loved getting the bowl win.....but that game was not a good advertisement for our program. Boring football.
