I'm upset.
I spent my childhood watching The Andy Griffith Show at dinner each night. Obviously they were in syndication at that point (I'm only 35), this is very sad.
Sad indeed. An American icon has passed away.

I think I will be in mourning for a week.
One of the great icons of the South, and America. RIP Andy.
He and Barney were the best combo on TV, ever. RIP.
RIP Andy, you will be missed by all!!!
In this day of total immoral crap filling the TV schedules, it makes me think how fortunate my generation was to have shows like "The Andy Griffith Show," which IMO is the best sitcom in the history of television.
Thanks, Anj.

Man - I agree, His values displayed in his life and the T.V. shows is a model that seems to be a distant memory. I was raised that way and taught these values to my daughter. I'm really desperate for GOOD T.V. shows that show something of values and respect. Most young people of today are having a hard time understanding good values 'cause it's not cool. Well here we are and look where we're going...I'm just glad I'm in the South and supporting La. Tech thru all these difficult times.

With his passing, innocence has truly died, IMO.
