According to the RDL, he was also here visiting the Health Hut staff, a mobile unit for uninsured. freeman is a proponent of health care education and friend of founder Dr. Lionel Lacayo. So he wasn't here just for the party or he hit two birds with one stone.
Just because people don't share our political views, don't mean they're not good people. If Freeman is supporting Dr. Lacayo's health care project, that's a good thing.
He was here to play at squire creek. They called it a birthday party, but the invite said simply "celebrating 150 years." it was an excuse for a party. Morgan's b-day is June 1. Mr. James' is in September.
He toured the Health Hut because he is good friends with Dr. Lacayo, and is from the Delta and is interested in such projects. But make no mistake, he came to play squire creek. And he swings a club with only his right hand. Pretty impressive.
There is a funny story about his visit to the mobile clinic. I might post it later when I have time.
Just because a person may support a good cause, doesn't mean they aren't also a direct threat to personal liberty. Virtually all people have interest in some aspect of "doing good." But our broader effects on society, individually, are a better determinant of whether we are "good people."
American Tories were "good people;" law-abiding, loyal subjects to the British Crown. But in their loyalty, they became the enemy of liberty and democracy. The time in which we live has already resulted in, I believe, an irreparable political divide and will soon enough force everyone to make similar choices regarding personal associations.

Golf brings all types together. That is one reason it is a great game.
If that's accurate, he's sick and needs monitoring and perhaps prosecution, not adulation.
