Don't be naive. The federal government doesn't bail out ordinary taxpayers. The federal government bails out big banks, wall street, and big unions.

You're right. In some of those buildings, it looks like the people fled for their lives leaving stuff behind. Like the library. There were still books on the shelves. Don't they have employees who could have gotten the books. And some of those businesses I assume moved elsewhere and could have taken stuff with them.

Anyone ever watch "Hard Core Pawn" on TV? If you do you will know at least one reason why Detroit is a mess. IMHO, the population is absolutely nuts up there and totally lacks self control and truth self worth. Too many years of Dem control like many other older cities in the north and northeast.

I wondered that as well DD. Looks like they would have moved the books to other libraries, but I guess they did not care. What a waste....
