Interview with Coach Dykes - SiriusXM College Sports Today

For those of you with SiriusXM, this morning's interview with Coach Dykes will be replayed on College Sports Today with Mark Packer and Rick Neuheisel - Channel 91 at about 12:10 a.m. The interview lasts about 15 minutes.

The full replay of College Sports Today runs from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. There was a lot of talk about Tech on yesterday's show, probably one of the reasons Sonny ended up being interviewed earlier today.

Darn, I cannot get here at work and they may or may not repeat it this weekend. In a nutshell what was said yesterday, and what did SD say?

A lot of talk about the Texas A&M game and how it came about. There was also a recap of last season and a discussion about returning players. Sonny also talked about being a coach's son and the things he's learned from his father about coaching and how to handle a season.

I'll see if I can't have some quotes posted in the next few days.

We sure are getting a lot of preseason publicity this year. I just hope our team SHOWS UP!

We're setting ourselves up to hit it VERY big this year, or we're going to fall flat on our face.

That was why I previously stated "baby steps" in a previous thread. We don't have a good history in these stituations.

We totally dominated the coin toss the year we were ranked #25 and went to an unranked USC!

Ah, the USC game...one of those statement games that we were not ready for or capable of raising to the next level.

Hopefully Dykes has learned how to start off a season better than his previous two tries.

As of now all we have is hope - no evidence that he knows how to start fast, and no evidence that we have enough horses on defense to start fast. But it could be a lot worse - we could have NO hope!

True. I actually think he has grown a lot himself as a coach over the last two years.

We were simply under coached and had no discipline enforced from the coaches in the USC game or the Bowl game against Clemson. Kids staying out all night the night before is all on the coaches.
