PAC, SEC, ACC, Big 10 all either going to nine game conference schedules are talking about it. Will this effect our efforts to schedule out of conference (money) games?

Yea
It is a plot to keep rising programs, La Tech, etc., from getting enough money to be nationally competitive. LSU started it when it began to look like North Louisiana was going to break out and create an identity other than as South Louisiana's poor relation.
Other than the Pac-12 (who has been doing this for a long time) I think the other conferences are still leaning away from 9 game conference schedules. They don't want to give up the big money and extra wins that 8 home games gets you.
If the other conferences do go to 9-game conferences schedules, I'm sure C-USA would do the same. It'd be just like past years when everybody played 11-game schedules. I don't think we'd have problems getting our money games. It'd just equate less non-conference home-and-home series.
Here's the upside: If these elite conferences go to a 9-game conference schedule, it will be much harder for the middle tier schools to get bowl qualified with 6 wins. They'll spend too much time beating up on their own. The result will be that it will be much tougher for these elite conferences to get 6, 7, and 8 teams bowl qualified. This should open up some pretty attractive bowl options for the rest of us.

I agree that this will be the case assuming the NCAA doesn't allow them to change the rules regarding bowl elgibility...again.
Once the new system replacing the BCS is in place, everything will trickle down from there. I believe the one sure bet is that the NCAA will not make it more difficult for the big boys to get teams into bowl games. The new TV deals dictate to the NCAA decision makers. IMO ESPN is pretty much calling the shots.
I expect a lot of big conference schools will be against the 9-conference-game idea. For many of those schools their only chance to get enough wins to qualify for a bowl rests on them scheduling a light-weight non-conference schedule and going unbeaten in those games.
Good old Memorial Gym
9 game conference schedules would effectively knock out the Vanderbilts, ole Misses and Kentuckys from postseason. They would only hurt themselves by attempting to hurt teams like us.
It's not just about the post-season.
It would mean giving up a home game. The big-money programs aren't going to give up another home game.
It's different for the Pac-12. They don't make as much off of their home gates as the Big 10 and SEC.
I would like a 9 game conference schedule for CUSA. I would much rather play another CUSA school than having to add Sun Belt or MAC schools to the schedule. If we could get our nonconference home games exclusively from MWC and the formerly called "AQ" conferences then fine, but otherwise would rather see the extra conference games.
