This has nothing to do with the WAC or SBC, but the BYU link perpetuated the myth that Conference USA's contract was a product of UL/UC/USF/TCU. That contract had been negotiated after the conference alignment and was made when the new line-up was known. That is why, contrary to the predictions of the piece, they/we did not take a hit with the next contract. I am holding out hope that Conference USA will once again get a contract that is reasonably favorable. Probably moreso than anyone except the BE and the five contract conferences. Every time someone has said that C*USA's next contract was going to be worse than the previous, it ends up being worth (slightly) more. Here's hoping the trend continues.
