I would hope he is microchipped. Is he under the care of the lsu vet still or is someone else responsible on a daily basis?
My God. I hope somebody has him. He'll never make it in this heat. And why wasn't he supervised when he went out?

True, but not many dog-owners have the responsibility of taking care of a school's mascot. If it were me, I would never let that dog out of my sight if it were outside.

He's had ~17 hours to roam around E. Kentucky. He can't be far from Sexton.
He's not going to be wandering around. He's in the shade somewhere trying to escape the relentless heat.
Good point, but that's still roughly 8 hours of darkness and cooler temps for him to wander. To your point, there are plenty of trees around E. Kentucky. If I could search, I'd check over towards Cedar Creek.
