Obama trying to limit military voting

I didn't see an appropriate thread for this, so I thought I'd make a new one.

Obama must really hate Ohio. Perfectly cool to take their money, but doesn't mind screwing over their military.

I truly believe that Obama has nothing but contempt for our military and the people who serve. Many in Washington have elitist attitudes and feel that they are better than you or I, and especially the military. They only put on the act to pander to the masses when election time rolls around.

Obama Camp Sues Over Voting Law

    • AP
    • Obama campaign, DNC file lawsuit over Ohio law that gives military members more time than rest of public to vote, as supporters say rule gives consideration to service members' locations.

Thanks for posting that Tyler. The initial blog posted did not tell the whole story: that the campaign (and other plaintiffs) actually are asking for all Ohio voters to have more time to vote. They aren't trying to restrict military voting; they are trying to open the extended voting period to all voters.

Sure they are. They are holding the military to the same standards as they are the general public even though it's been established it's much more difficult for the military to get their early votes in. Why should some Lazy Daisy get the same priviledge as our service members just because it's more convenient to her while our military members have to hustle just to get their votes in?

Ok, say they get an injunction against the law. What would you think would happen seeing how it is now August and the election is 66 business days until the election. My guess is that an injuction would block the law and eliminate the military extension for this election as the legislature probably wouldn't have time to rewrite everything and get votes and a signature.

And now he and his liberal judge buddies are trying to steal the vote.

Late Court Rulings May Sway Election
    • AP
    • Series of court battles in key states over the next few weeks, which deal with issues like voter ID rules and early polling locations, could impact election results well before Americans cast their ballots.

I see a problem with people having more time to vote as a problem why????I would think that would be a good thing so that everyone has plenty of time to vote. I see this being a win-win for everyone.
I would see this as a win-win if republicans had come up with this idea as well as democrats. Independents could have come up with the idea and it would have been a great idea.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with everyone having the same amount of time to vote. I just don't see the problem with it.

The men and women of our military do not have a choice in nor control of their time. Civilians do. You are not equal to them. End of story.

If you're too irresponsible to vote, you don't deserve extra time. Short of death, there is no excuse.

I don't see that there is really any discussion on this. This may not be popular but it is what it is.

I am all about the military having the extra days and if that means the people in Ohio also get the extra days then so be it what ever it takes to get the military those extra days is all that matters.

It's because the people in power and most of the citizens in this country are too weak to have the discussions necessary to ensure the United States isn't just a fading memory.

The Ohioan military members already had those days. The lazy and irresponsible civilians didn't. That was fine. Anyone who thinks otherwise is looking to buy votes.
