Mark would be the perfect choice here. He has worked with less and yet has had success.
She will make more there as an assistant than here as head coach.

Assuming that's true, maddawg, what is the basis (meaning, what exactly in Title IX requires that)? Is it because the new coach would be replacing a female coach and we need to maintain balance? Obviously, we have had and do have men coaching women's sports (volleyball [recently hired male], tennis, soccer, maybe more?).
I could have sworn I'd read gender equity applies to players, not coaches. Not trying to argue, just a serious question...is there something about this situation that's different or am I missing something?
it doesn't have to be a female, but if a female candidate thought she was better qualified than a male that was hired, she could file a discrimination case under Title IX.
Whatever...The replacement will be a female and you can then say that she was the best qualified.
Here's hoping they get the right person. And quickly.
That's what usually happens, but I have been in on the hiring of a coach at Tech and it doesn't have to be female per title IX.
I understand. Y'all know I like to blame title 9 for all the world's problems. We go above and beyond to make sure Women are treated equally in Tech Athletics. Best qualified need not apply. How's that for accuracy?
