Southern Miss' Wilson to honor Tyrone Duplessis

HATTIESBURG — With an unquestioned work ethic driven by his passion for the game, Southern Miss cornerback Deron Wilson is never a player in need of extra motivation.

However, Wilson will carry a reminder throughout the 2012 season to honor a fallen friend and help guide him through any rough stretches he might encounter.
After wearing No. 7 his first two seasons, Wilson will wear No. 22 this year in memory of Tyrone Duplessis, a Louisiana Tech running back who died in February from a massive heart attack at age 21.
