If onlye he had changed just one more against a&m on the 1 yard line. He had 4 chances.

It was then that Tim realized he was going to have to call his own plays from that point on.

I played leapfrog with opposing mascots, including Bully the MissSt bulldog and Big Red the Razorback, across their sidelines. At that same game in LR the Hog fans ripped the fur hand from my suit. I went to the locker room to commandeer a pair of the players' gloves where I found QB Jason Martin wincing in agony, his knee the size of a small purple pumpkin, and receiving an emergency medical treatment I care not to remember. At the game in Starkpatch, the MSU fans rang their cowbells in my face and shouted "Go home Cajun redneck." The following week I was handcuffed and escorted to the locker room for ignoring repeated warnings to stay off the grass at Kyle Field in College Station. In a game at Indy, the Baylor (live) bear bit the $hi+ out of my hand when I tried to pet it. After a loss at home to USL, it was unseasonably cold, and I remember the odd sensation of feeling my own sweat freeze to my body when the suit came off. When basketball season came I used to go up in the stands and pass out M&Ms and skittles to the kids. StarWars had just been re-released in theaters, and I often battled other mascots (and refs) with a plastic light saber. At a WBB playoff game, I got smoked -- straight up schooled -- in a dance off with the Auburn tiger. I never clicked with the Cheerleaders, mostly snooty Greeks, and preferred to travel with the band kids. At a hotel in Bowling Green I had my first shot of tequila while the Hoop Troop chanted "drink Champ drink!"

I know I loved every minute of it, but only remember it like a dream.

Like I said, ask DallasDog. He was usually the sober one.

That's some funny stuff, Champ. Perhaps you would have had better luck with the cheerleaders if you had shared that bottle of Tequila??

I don't suspect the snooty cheerleaders were that way because they were Greeks. I know several people of Greek origin, and they're some of the nicest people I know.

I'm sure it was only a coincidence.

Correlation, after all, is not causality.
