    Rice Injuries

    The Houston Chronicle reports:

    1. Starting free safety Corey Frazier will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
    2. Defense end Tanner Leland will miss 6-8 weeks with a knee injury. This is another setback for this position as other injuries have occurred.
    3. The Owls are thin on the defensive line after season ending injuries to Dylan Klare, Josh Skinner and Miles Lee.

    I always question this thinking.

I get that on average, an AQ player is going to be bigger and stronger. But would that safety's knee not have blown out regardless of who he was covering?

I think it has more to do with depth, AQ's normally have better depth across the board, so the non-AQ starters don't get as much of a break having to stay in against the starter and just as talented backup. This wears players out and leads to injuries.

    i.e.
    AQ starter ~ non-AQ starter
    AQ backup >> non-AQ backup

I'm just hoping we can handle success in our programs a hell of a lot more gracefully than our counterparts in Baton Rouge. We'll see, and I'm hopeful.

Not to go LFR on you......but........we need to learn to have success before we can learn how to handle it.
