Pretty sure helmets have come off at the same rate for years. It's just now it's a penalty to play without one.
Btw, 17 total helmets came off.
Jon'al White lost his helmet at least 5 times tonight. It seemed ridiculous how many times helmets came off.
What the hell??? That wears me out.
Rice had two helmets come off (maybe three times). We had 15+ times. No, it's not just a normal thing. We have equipment issues.
Guess we shouldn't have bought the helmets off eBay from china.
One of these days, it will bite us when we have a star player out for a big play at the end of the game. Coach needs to address the issue sooner rather than later.
Seems like it would be an easy fix. Dykes should just make players wear their helmets properly or hold them off the field himself. I know, you don't want a star player to have to sit out a couple of plays, but that is better than getting injured because you don't know how to strap on a head gear. Maybe it has to do with the way some of our guys wear their hair??

According to players, first year equipment manager could be the problem. The helmets coming off has been going on forever, but when it is so lopsided, it is not an equipment problem.....

The snap rings on chin straps need replacing . They wear out over time . It doesn't matter how tight you make the chin straps they are going to come loose. We have an old Tech offensive lineman that sells equipment to high schools all over the country. I'm going to suggest to him he make a visit to the field house and work out a deal. I think the new rule is also giving players incentive to uppercut the facemasks to facilitate them coming off. Houston had quite a few coming off last week too.
