It depends on your cable/sat provider, some include access automatically, and just need to use your cable/sat login.

ESPN 3 online is free. If you want to watch it on your tablet or phone, you need to be a subscriber of the approved providers.

Grab a laptop and hook it up to a tv and watch it for free.

I'm just happy because they've just recently added Comcast to their provider list. I can watch my football on my phone. SCORE!
