I'm excited to associate with ECU also...I like those guys!!
I wonder why all those SunBelt schools want to get into CUSA? The TV contract and bowl games aligned with CUSA make it a great opportunity alone but when you consider the regional rivalries and the fact fans can travel to the games it makes it a home run for Tech. Charlotte, Dallas, Birmingham, Houston, Miami fertile recruiting ground.
+1
I like being associated with Marshall and USM too: along with ECU those three are respected, recognized names with some tradition. Rice and Tulane are seen as academically prestigious. NTSU, UAB, UTSA are easy day drives. CUSA was WAY WAY the best non-AQ choice. When Old Dominion comes aboard that gives me a choice of an annual road trip east to Marshall, ECU, ODU; plus hopefully 1 - 2 regional road games (USM, Tulane, NTSU, UAB, Rice, UTSU) setting up say 3 road games plus 6 home games, GETTING TO WATCH THE DAWGS 8 -9 GAMES EVERY YEAR!!! It's just too awesome to comprehend.
Just look at the day we were accepted and listened to our new commish talk about how glad he was to have us aboard...WOW - A lateral move...no way. Any time you can better yourself and your school, develope rivalries, get better television coverage and play in more prestegious venues you've made the right move ! Now keeping good coaches is the key as well for us to find coaches that want to stay (like Boise St. has done) and build a really great program. You have to provide a good complex, training center, great community involvement and the backing of the school. We are doing just that. We now have the most season tickets ever sold, avg. more fan attendance than ever before. It's been a lot of hard work by everybody to build this bandwagon and we're not done yet.
I thinks any of us would gladly trade our spot in CUSA for a spot in an AQ conference..!

Even if it is a "Lateral Move", people forget how good the Football was in the WAC and what it did for BSU and even for Hawaii one year. If CUSA can do that for us, which I think it will, we will have come out winners. It has always been a traditional springboard for non AQ schools into the big money.
Please delete this thread for me. So much butthurt here, I wasn't trying to troll or talk down on Tech. I went to Tech for God's sakes!! I lived on the 6th floor of Caruthers Hall and later had a party house...the brickhouse on Eastland Ave. Worked at Anthony's for over a year. All the comments in my rep box are rediculous. I didn't realize there was so much inferiority complex here. I haven't followed the WAC and what it's doing, so this thread did serve some purpose for me. The jerks who jumped to conclusions so quickly have ruined my experience on this website and I will likely take my monetary donations and time to a different forum.

LOL don't worry about it, you just choose an inopportune subject for right out the gate, we've had plenty of flamers that usually start out with subjects like this, BB&B is a great place for Dawg fans, we just tend to be a little snappy sometimes as it's been a long row to hoe...
To the OP overall WAC & CUSA competitiveness will actually be pretty close in football and closer to a lateral, but the real advantage is the travel costs, local competition/exposure, and the ability for our fanbase to attend away games.
For the Anthony's meat sauce recipe, I'll keep you in the green.
wow, thanks guys! I thought I would just get flamed even more.
I don't remember the marina recipe. I know there was a bunch of canned tomato sauce/paste, sugar, salt, onions, garlic, carrots and oregano...and we slow cooked like 30 gallons for 4 hours...it started with sauteeing the carrots, onions and garlic with butter and then adding the tomato stuff and sugar and seasoning and just stirring it a lot to keep it from burning...but I do not remember at all the amounts we used. Sorry, that was like 15 years ago. I do however remember the Alfredo recipe. I loved it. 1 quart of heavy whipping cream, one cup of parmasean cheese, 1 tablespoon of salt and pepper to taste. So easy, but so good. I still make that to this day.
