Doesn't anyone remember that SD was recruiting heavily on defensive players this last recruiting season. While it may seem that he is concentrating only on offense he did recruit defensive players -- backs and linemen.. The results may have something to do with his DC and other defensive coaches.

You realize that pretty much any other defense in the country than ours and the one ranked below us would have won us that game? Think about that. Time for a new DC. You just can't score 57 points and lose.
IMO, it will be interesting to see how SD handles our next 6 games. I'm assuming the level of scoring will be extremely high. Consider this: IF SD backs off the accelerator and lets our subs play quite a bit, IS HE preparing for 2013 and Considering STAYING ANOTHER YEAR?? OR if he throws the gas to our offense, IS HE SETTING up for the $2.5M paycheck?? We'll see what happens in both cases.
BTW, This line of thinking is totally speculation on my part. Again, we can put 50+ on a whole bunch of folks, but can't EVER be sure how many the other team will put up. HOWEVER, we did get ample opportunities to win, just didn't execute.
The blocked extra point returned for 2 points was what lost this game.

I would like to think we can compare ourselves to Boazy, for instance. But, we can't. Oh, we can build a winning football program on par, or better. But, it'll be tough to match the fan support they have. We are competing with too many others in this region to garner the almost exclusive product they enjoy in their market. The Boazy Broncos are really the "only game in town" in that part of the country. You know what we face here.
Sure it's about money but not all about money. I'm sure one of Dykes big goals is to build up the large fan base and following just as Dooley's was as well. It means $$ for staff and facilities, helps recruit better players, builds excitement and a following etc... Heck, everyone wants to be loved and have others proud of their work and in this case willing to spend the $$ and be there through thick and thin/good times and bad.
But I agree that even lsu corn dog fans and the UT teasip fans leave when their teams get way down at times. But I don't want our fan base to be known for that at all.

That is a horrible attitude to have.
If we all go out and do out part, enlist 50,000 new season ticket holders immediately, we may be able to match whoever comes calling. So, do you part and talk to your closest few hundred friends about supporting the Dawgs today. Go Dawgs!
Point being, building the size of fan base we need will take time. What we need is a coach who is willing to stick around long enough to build a program. The other option is to build a time machine, go back to the 1920's, use tax payer dollars to recruit the best players and build the best facilities, and join the SEC.
In order to find a coach that is willing to stay long enough to build a program, Tech's administration is going to have to display a 100% commitment to building a program. Our facilities aren't even on par with a lot of the high school programs in the DFW area.
Hire me for $750,000. I'll stay.
We don't have the ability to place property taxes on our residents to raise a billion or so either. You use an extreme comparison and not a good one.
Don't Louisiana citizens vote on school district bond offerings and tax rates?
