There was once a "sport" on some third tier cable channel that featured team of three on a bunch of trampolines with basketball goals at each end. No dribbling and lots of dunks, actually kind of entertaining for a while. I have no idea what it was called....

One of our old men's assistant coaches under Rupp was the HC of one of the slam ball teams. Can't remember which team he said he was HC of

I don't disagree with Geno's premise, but I do worry about the logistics, especially how it trickles down to high schools and junior highs. Are schools going to have to purchase movable goals to lower from 10 feet to 9 feet, 4.8 inches. Are the rims going to be interchangable? How does this logistically work? If there's a feasible plan, then I'm willing to listen. Heaven knows, women's basketball needs more excitement.

I agree with this. A lot of high schools, YMCA's, field houses, and playgrounds all across the nation have fixed backboards. It's doubtful that playgrounds all across America are going to have separate courts for men and women. I think it could throw women's FGM accuracy off by practicing on the "standard" goal height that men use and then playing games with rims at a different height.

If Geno wants lower rims everywhere, let him pay for them...all of them.

The entire "babyball" issue was done backwards when the NCAA intoduced it...it had not been introduced in high schools and lower and also wasn't being used professionally or internationally when it was adopted.

Maybe I'm prejudiced...Louisiana Tech has only won 1 national championship since the babyball came in. Tennessee and ConnU won 0 combined with the regular ball. Go back to the regular ball.

Not much you can do about slow. I say leave it alone. Any more concessions and it will really become marginalized; rather than Men's and Women's basketball it would be Basketball and Women's Basketball.

Mark Berokoff, he was the head coach of the Bandits. Was an Administrative Assistant here and currently the head coach of Hillsdale College.
