Seems to me that a Head Coach's TV show would be, 1) good for our recruiting, and 2) a good marketing tool to reach average, non-traditional, potential LA Tech fans. It could also serve to motivate alumni.

Maybe THIS is one reason why we've had trouble growing attendance.

I agree HD. Unfortunately our administration and Learfield don't care enough to do this. It takes work you know.

BTW, I"ve noticed several C-USA teams have at least regional shows on Comcast FSSW, FOX Houston, and FOX Atlanta.

I don't know if it's even feasible, but any show that features Mike White would be good for LaTech.

It should be done at least locally. It's not really difficult. The most difficult detail is for the coach to find the necessary time to do it. Typically there is something in the coaches contract that requires them to do a coaches show. That clause may be more of an income source for the coaches than a requirement. If so, it's time we grew out of that.

Production is not a problem. Selling ads is not a problem. Finding a decent time slot for TV can be costly especially since we need both Monroe and Shreveport. Still doable. If we can't get a local show put together, I have no hope of having something ready for FOX to run regionally.

We have a Top 25 team with no TV show. HELLO!

I spoke with a couple of people within our athletic department at the time of the CUSA announcement who indicated that we would have either a general highlight show that would cover multiple sports throughout the school year or individual coach's shows in the next year or two.

Bruce reiterated this at the tour stop in Baton Rouge in May. It is apparently within the fine print of CUSA's deal with Fox. If we cannot produce it on our own or through Learfield, Fox will produce it for us.

In all likelihood, you will see it on the new Fox Sports NOLA and nationally on Fox College Sports Central.

I have suggested this before to members of the admin. & it has fallen of deaf ears. Tech could start a tv production, newscasting/broadcasting class with the help of tv stations in Monroe & Shreveport. With the help of the City of Ruston, there is the possibility of a grant out there for underserved populations. I am quite sure that the folks @ KTBS would be eager to partner with Tech. But they have to be asked. Fact is...bureaucrats are lazy & do not tend to think outside the box. At the very least, we should be doing a weekly webcast of a coaches show.

Let's think about this... we DO have more sports than football!

Dykes does show in fall, Spoon in winter, then Simoneaux in spring...

Spoon does fall show on bye week.

9 months of original programming for sale...

    Watcha think???

Go try to sell advertising for WBB. Let us know how that turns out. Don't assume anybody outside of WBB ticket holders care about her.

Mike White is one of our university's greatest assets. He's poised and he's polished as a communicator. Throw in the fact that mbb is vastly more popular than wbb, and it's a no-brainer...
