I am fairly surprised that Petrino is not on it. No shock at all that SD is.
He will be on every list imaginable......... Can't worry about that right now........
i hope he stays @tech
Going to Kentucky would be a HUGE mistake for Dykes. Kentucky is a football coaches' grave yard. It's a basketball school, and always will be.
SD is on everyone's short list, does not mean he is gone though. What I find really interesting though is the SD-TF relationship, can and will one survive without the other at this point in their careers. Will SD go anywhere without TF, and if he does will he have the same success? Can TF be a head coach, or if asked to be a coordinator somewhere else, can he have any kind of chemistry with another head coach? The SD/TF combo value may be more than the sum of its parts, and if that is so, will they only go as a package deal? Will recruiters demand a package deal?
A lot of questions with not very many answers, I just hope they stay.
LA Tech has its challenges (salaries), but is still a better FBS coaching gig than UK. Like HD said, they are a B-Ball school & always will be. HD was also correct about being a coaching graveyard. No good college football coach would want that job. It is not a program that can be built to compete year in & year out.
Fulmer getting hired at Kentucky might be the climax of Tennessee's worst nightmare.
Derek Dooley was fired from Tennessee this morning.
Western Michigan also fired Bill Cubit as their head coach after yesterday's game. Let the rumors of Sonny Dykes going to Western Michigan begin.
Wonder if he would be interested in being an AD in Louisiana
