I loved those quotes-- pretty funny. Everyone is SO thin- skinned. Remmber he was answering question about Arkansas spot which was not open at time. Basically all coaches would be crucified talking about spots that are still open and disrespecting players with you till season is open. Most of us hoped he would wait for Texas Tech spot. Any one who reads BBB can get a laugh out of how crazy some of the rumors and otright garbage is posted. I would say dope smoking 19 yr olds in moms basement is pretty funny. Everything post was wrong -- never say cal mentioned til after Bowl fiasco-- and dope smoking 19 yr olds will be tame to what will be aimed his way in Cal-- hell, they had tree people when I was there ( for Tech game) Don't take yourself so seriously-- rest of us don"t

Maddawg is correct. Dykes did not give the standard coach speak when asked about the coaching rumors. How could y'all forget Dykes' comments about those coaching rumors being started by 19-year-olds in their dorm rooms on the internet smoking pot? Even USA Today criticized Dykes for that answer.

That was the first time he said it. He said it the second time a month later when the Kentucky job came open.

The fact that he didn't say he was staying while job hunting on our dime doesn't add to his character.

All of the head coaches job hunt on their current schools dime. This wasn't unique. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Many people look for other jobs while still employed at their current one. It is traditional that most provide two weeks notice to their former employers instead of flying away on jet with 3/4's of the remaining staff within two hours, however.

Yeah college coaches don't often give 2 weeks notice. What happened is unfortunately typical in college football.

All too typical. I like what someone on here said. Coaches like players. If you leave before your contract is up to go somewhere else.....you have to sit out a year.
