    Increasing Notoriety

So I was at an impromptu car show in the DC area this morning. As I was walking around, two guys in Michigan gear passed by me (I was wearing my LATech jacket). I overheard them as they passed. One guy looks at the other and says, "Louiaiana Tech, boy you don't want to f _ _ _ with them right now."

Needless to say it made me grin

Sorry to quibble, but notoriety has a negative connotation. Increasing popularity would be a better phrase to use. And to share your sentiments, I've had people who don't ever mention Tech or college football comment to me about our beloved university.

    These are great times!

As fans we are always looking ahead to see what's next. I'm going to try and stay away from the coaching rumors and just enjoy the season while it lasts. These kids and coaches have given us a fun ride!

Doing job with contractor out of Florida. He ask me if I was a LSU fan. I said, I was a Tech fan. He said. Oh LaTech, they are in top 20. Boy they are good team. People do know who the Bulldogs are.

Notoriety - the state, quality, or character of being widely known

How does this have a negative connotation?
