Why would they add anyone else right now? We went from 13, down to 11 after Tulane/ECU now up to a nice even 12

Actually, Dwayne, its pretty simple...
> Big East makes final raid C-USA taking Tulsa, Southern Miss, Rice, and Louisiana Tech
> ULL gets our slot in CUSA along with any desirable Sun Belt schools
> ULM stuck in Belt along with new additions Idaho, NMSU, Lamar
Problem solved!
Just say NO to the UL twins either one, ULL does not bring South Louisiana, it barely brings Lafayette and certainly doesn't carry the majority of Acadiana (TIGAHS!) and no matter how the spin it they have not and are not committed to their athletics (just took 1MM out of Athletics to fill a gap somewhere else) They're about to start getting hit hard by the new enrollment criteria and there only strength, size, will begin deteriorating.
We need to be talking to the MWC.
Good old Memorial Gym
I figured they'd stay at 12 and await future developments (MTSU wasn't going anywhere) but I guess they're intent on more than 12 (which makes sense, from what I understand CBB wanted to be the first to 14 or 16). MTSU wouldn't necessarily have been my choice, but it seemed pretty clear to be the conference's choice. I would guess the consensus here to be right about FAU being next. Maybe ULL.
Here's a potential upshot for you: If the BE stands pat (or expands out west), and C*USA adds MTSU and FAU, you'll be in the same division as Southern Miss.
University of Houston '01. Any references to "we" or "us" likely refer to UH. Cheers!
CBSsports has a pretty good summary of Conference Realignments: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...ball/21057704/
Conference USA 2013
Welcome: Five new members: two are culled from the remnants of the poor, poor WAC, Louisiana Tech and UT-San Antonio; two arrive from the Sun Belt, FIU and North Texas; and one FCS-to-FBS transition school, Old Dominion.
Farewell: The aforementioned UCF-Houston-Memphis-SMU quartet. If you're doing the math, yes, five teams in and four teams out from a 12-team conference does equal 13 teams. But that's where C-USA stands for 2013. (Charlotte will be ready to complete its FCS-to-FBS transition in 2015.) 2014 is a different story ...Conference USA - 2014
Welcome: (MTSU) TBD. But the odds that some school or three doesn't fill this space in the near future are extremely slim.
Farewell: The Green Wave and the Pirates are off to the Big East, bringing C-USA down from the awkward number of 13 schools to the even-more-awkward number of 11. Unless Charlotte moves its timetable up by a season, someone else will likely join the party for 2014 -- perhaps Texas State, which would like to keep its FBS-newbies rivalry with UT-San Antonio as an in-conference series?
I'd prefer WKU over the other names being dropped. They seem to be building a pretty solid program up there.
