As much as I love Dykes, White is the more impressive coach at this point.
I agree that we must rework his contract.

Coach White knows the value of a good defense as well as a good offense for sure.
I already answered that in another thread. It's not just his pay. It's the MBB budget. At least x10
Not a lot as far as salary and then extend. More towards overall budget. Too early for me to throw all our cards at White. We really haven't played but one decent team with this year's schedule built for wins. Still no low post offense, live too much on outside shooting without having something to go with it to carry us during cold shooting spells from outside, pressing defense outside against good teams end up driving lay ups.
I like Coach White, but still a little early for me and more improvement I want to see.
I know this is probably very naive on my part, but I believe White wants to build a program here. Yes, we need to put some money into the program, but basketball is a sport were a school like Tech could be a player. I always look to Wichita State as my example of what a non AQ school can be. Great facilities, pay and amenities for the coaching staff, big fan support, etc. The WSU coach likes to point out how he has it as good as any of the "big" programs. They are undefeated this year with wins over the Big 10, the Big East and Tulsa. Why can't we be like them?
While it usually takes longer for basketball coaches to ascend, we need to equip him to succeed and give him incentive to stay. I think bringing in a guy who can help our players stay on task academically would be a good start.
Need to start getting big turnouts too. The USM game should be marketed like there is no tomorrow. After all, there is no football on Saturday!

Although I am very high on coach White, I tend to agree. I would like to first show our commitment to him by showing commitment to the program through SIGNIFICANT facilities upgrades - front and center is the TAC video board.
Since BVDV won't ask for it, I will. If my understanding is correct, we're still a measley $50K short of the amount needed for the board. If that is correct, BB&B should pony that up immediately and get this done!
How about 100 of us put up $250 each and two kick in $5,000 each. I'll put up the rest.

Well the upgrades to the program in general last forever regardless of the coach so I agree.
TCU's BBall facilities suck. My sister in law graduated there this summer so I got to see all of their amazing FB facilities. My senior year of HS (89-90) we played a playoff game there. Was SHOCKED to see the BBall arena looked EXACTLY the same. No upgrades at all except for the video board. I will see if I can find a picture I took of it and post it here.
I'm in for 250 LFR.
