Ford, Dixon had a bad hammy. Do you still think there was an underlying hidden issue for the reason he didn't get many carries against SJSU, or do you now believe your credible source?

I just finished reading this entire thread. I want to step back and take my personal feelings towards OUR University, OUR Alumni, OUR TEAM and OUR lost. I wish one person could fall on the sword and it really make everything better, but that's impossible. Whether you want to admit it or not, BleedTechBlue.com helps in recruiting and helps with the casual fan or Joe Smoe wanting to learn more about Louisiana Tech Athletics. JFord does have resources and contacts that LATechSports.com or this board doesn't. If you want to be mad at the situation or the leadership at OUR University, then by all means this is the place to vent. But if you're looking to bully around Louisiana Tech's ONLY inside reporter and Alumnus that will put his name to his work then all you're doing is being a "big man" behind a keyboard.
If you are apart of this website, then chances are you LOVE Louisiana Tech as much as I do. Chances are you are as furious as I am WE got burned. But the chances of helping the situation by targeting the only person willing to take blame for his part, however big or small in your mind, in this debacle is wrong. If you don't respect JFord as a journalist then don't read his work, don't subscribe to his website, but don't use him as a scape goat.
I'm writing a letter to BVD, DR and SD, I'd suggest everyone else do the same.

Didn't read through the whole thread until now. Good man, owning up to your mistake. And for the record, I took issue with the one-sidedness of your tweets. They were certainly one possible explanation of the facts, but probably should have gotten more sides to the story before editorializing against Tech. Still, great maturity in owning up to it.
Now, if someone would please talk Mr Malone off the edge...
It would, actually, settle the whole thing. Oh, you are one of those jounalists that want to bash, though. If you don't know what REALLY happened, please don't write anything. In a couple of days, you will see and regret it! You will then need to apologize and retract the article - oh, that's right, you would just do that in small print on the bottom of some obscure page, though.
This is one case that Tech officials were not at fault. Hopefully, the whole story will be out soon from credible sources.
Keep trying to convince yourself that, Champ. We had an offer to play in a bowl game and chose not to accept it. No one to blame but ourselves. Sure, we had a lot of issues that went against us, but our administration knew there was a chance we could be left at home and chose to gamble anyway. We lost. All of this excuse-making just sounds like a bad gambler complaining about a bad beat or a backdoor cover.

Listening to Moon Griffon this morning on 710 KEEL, he quoted Bleed Tech Blue several times. Moon basically said Tech turn down the Independence bowl because Tech didn't want to play ULM or any Sunbelt team.
like it or not, that's the perception of a lot of people in Louisiana thanks in no small part to this board. People don't let facts get in the way of their reality and at this point, perception is reality. Bad publicity is generally good publicity but in this case, we are a laughing stock on a national level and now Tech is in damage control mode.
I doubt we are a laughing stock on a national level. College football fans around the nation respect Tech more than most of the Louisiana "fans". They are pretty savvy about the NCAA and the FBS, and know all about politics of bowl games. I would bet there are more national fans that are empathetic to Tech vs. laughing at us. The damage control should be aimed at countering opposing schools' recruiting efforts more than anything else. Other schools' coaches are gonna want to use this against us.

JFord, you need to go back and write the truth now and yes tweet the truth and correct some of the damage done out there. maybe call up guys like the above, who ever Moon Griffon is, and correct it as well.
