The University President Should be Front and Center

If our university President were a REAL leader, he would speak for the school on this. He would not allow ANYONE to be blamed for this debacle except HIM. All organizations start at the front office. All that happens on that campus is HIS responsibility. The AD is gonna be on a radio show this morning---not good enough IMHO. The President needs to speak for the school. It wouldn't make anything any better, but at least he would come across as a leader and roger up for something that is ultimately his responsibility.

This is really starting to make the Indy Bowl look bad. They may have some explaining to do after this.

Exactly! I had a coach tell our team one time when we were complaining about the umpiring and he whirled around and said, "Shut the hell up! You should be beating this scrub team by 10 runs right now. If you'd do what your are supposed to be doing out there, then the umpires wouldn't even matter." In other words, had Tech won the last two games, then there's no freakin' way they would've been left out of a bowl game as one of the top 15 teams in the nation. It's about winning, plain and simple. If you get the job done on the field, the bowls will take care of themselves and we wouldn't be worried about not getting multiple invites.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...8-0 against teams with losing records and 1-3 against teams with winning records. It's all fine and good to say Tech has the #1 offense in the nation, but Tech has to play both sides of the ball to be a balanced team. Without balance, then they don't DESERVE a bowl. Now with that said, it's a dad-gum sham Tech was actually OFFERED a bowl bid and didn't jump on it considering what everyone seems to know about ESPN and the television networks and the profit motive. It would have been a different story had they not even received an offer.

I don't think I'm alone on this opinion..... Reneau didn't want to play ULM... period. I'm sure he advised BVD to hold off on the I-bowl. Sad situation!
