"Reneau, How Low Will We Go?"

24 hours has passed and I still am as pissed as I was yesterday.

So I ask, how low will we go?
There are 31 seniors that thought they had one last game!
Most of those 31 will never see the grid iron again.

You can blame the IBowl, the Liberty Bowl, the Coach, the Defense, it doesn't matter. The true blame lies at the feet of Bruce. His job was to get this team to a bowl. They met the requirement, he needed to get them to a bowl. He gambled and lost. It's time for him to pay up.

Let's look at what is on his resume from this weekend.
He took a team with 9 wins and sold them to ZERO bowls.
He took a team that was the #1 offense in the country and sold them to ZERO bowls.
He took a team with a bowl offer and took them to ZERO bowls.

Some of you are OK with this because the payoff would have been so much better.
Well, to that I say.... YOU LOST! You bet the farm and lost! What happens when you lose? YOU PAY UP!

There is some great spin floating around out there right now. But I don't believe it. And I have good reason to feel that way. No. I will not explain.
BVDV has not been an honest person in all of this.

I have nerver called Bruce out before. But I am now.
It was his job to make sure we were bowling. He failed.

I made the "Reneau, How Low Will You Go?" banner to get rid of Oakes. I'm ready to pull that out of retirement.

I wrote my letter to Bruce last evening, cooled off, re-read it this morning and sent it any way! The guy is an idiot! I also copied Reneau for what good that would do. I should have copied James D.! I sure hope Dr. Guice comes through for us, we need leadership in a bad way!

I agree with JAB - and for everyone out there, think about it logically. It is ANY AD's job to lobby his team to get to a bowl. Regardless of the "spin" BVDV is putting out there - if ANYONE thinks he did not (at some point) through this process lobby the Indy Bowl for La Tech you're crazy. I've read on other posts basically that "The Indy Bowl sure is quiet"... Hell yes they are - the Indy Bowl is Non-Profit Foundation that represents FOR profit businesses. They are NOT going to get in the middle of a mud slinging contest. Sounds to me like BVDV is doing a little more politicking for his job - the same politicking he should've done all along for his SCHOOL. Bottom line (as JAB said) is this - it's BVDV's job to secure a bowl for his football team - and he didn't. And it's not like he had a 6-6 team... He can spin it however he wants to, but he didn't do his job... that's the bottom line!!!

I couldn't agree more with this thread. Fact is, we're 9-3 and not going bowling, therefore somebody high up (BVD) needs to lose his job.

+1. Well Said. If he had worked as hard getting us to a bowl as he is trying to save his job, we would be in a bowl, even if it was the Independence Bowl. I would rather be in the Independence Bowl any day of the week than stay at home. I'm sure all 31 seniors would rather play in the Independence Bowl than sit at home, and they are the ones truly getting screwed in this deal.
