Is this about ULL's supposed gripe about Tech having something to so with their not going to the I Bowl in 2008? If so, let's ONCE AGAIN set the record straight.

Just like this year, ESPN wanted a better national audience for the game. In '08 they did NOT want a Tech-ULL matchup. That is why NIU was selected. And that is why Ohio was selected this year. And this bullshit about the I Bowl being afraid to lose Ohio to the Lil Cesar Bowl is totally BS! The Lil Cesar Bowl had already selected CMU to fill the MAC slot. They PASSED on Ohio the day before!

So, to please ESPN, the I Bowl was forced to invite Ohio. And their plan was to match them vs. Tech. As we all know, the I Bowl douchebags, full of lsu wannabees, decided to play hardball, KNOWING ulm had NO PLACE to go and would be available anytime.

Now, that said, I do think BVDs bungled this. He believed the Liberty Bowl was good on its word. But, when the BcS dominoes began to fall, Iowa State became available. Water under the bridge now, but BVDs was taken for a ride.

In summary, by holding out for the Liberty Bowl, Tech gave ulm a chance to go bowling they would NOT have had otherwise.

Bad karma? Nah!

Next year will not be any better for ULL when they visit the Dawgs in Ruston. They will lose many seniors this year, including 4 O-Linemen and a couple of D-Line.
