Running tracks inside stadiums used to be the norm. Texas removed theirs about 10-15 years ago to expand their capacity. I noticed Kansas was building a new track stadium but don't recall if they are going to add seating to their football stadium (originally bulit in the '20s). The University of Houston removed the track from Robertson when they began using it again. Of course it's gone now. Tigger stadium was one of the first to not have a track and I don't know if it was that way when built. Newer stadiums (I say newer 50 yrs or newer) generally don't have them. Ours and Kansas State's opened the same year with no track.
And......awaaaaay we go.....off on a tangent.
This thread is about Tech's South EZ project, the BUILDING, and its general appearance. Penn's BUILDING in its EZ is classic "college" style. I did not state, nor even imply, that we should carbon-copy Penn's BUILDING. Just meant it as an example of a BUILDING style that is classic in its appearance and conveys a "college" look. That does NOT mean it can't be/shouldn't be modified some to meet Tech's needs in the project.
So, if you want to discuss tracks in a football stadium, fine, but that was clearly NOT my point.
But, since y'all mentioned it, you do know Franklin Field plays hosts to one of the most prestigious professional track meets annually, the Penn Relays, right?
How about some updated pics?
Aww man. Cant believe you deleted the pic I posted! It was just a mudhole with a blue tarp in it! Why would you take offense at that?

Mississippi State's new endzone is finally finished. Here's a look at the inside. Pretty neat stuff.

That is awesome. Their golf facility at Old Waverly is going to be a premier facility as well
No matter, most of the fans still have nosebleed seats (like me). But sure is nice to look at I guess.
And since the stadium is just about finished, they just released plans for rebuilding the Dudy Noble Baseball field.
It will blow you away.........or it did us, anyway.

Iowa State just finished theirs as well and spent $20 mil. Michigan state also just finished a nice building with locker rooms and spent $24 mil-nice company for Tech to be in.
