Broadway is NOT a move up!
Hey! Just wanted to chime in on the thread here. I hope all of my Dawg Brethren are doing well! While it is nice to think about hiring some Big name coach, I feel that the THFCHC (Tech Head Football Coach Hiring Committee) should look to someone that knows football, Tech, Ruston, and has the School's best interest at heart! Instead of some one looking to skip up to greener pastures, like we have hired the last several times. I know I may sound a little biased, but what about hiring a past player that has some pride in Tech football like Matt Dunigan? Or someone like him? thoughts?
It may be "our Internet" chatter, but Monken's name has shown up on all these rumors thus far. Interesting to see Bobo mentioned.
I'm beginning to think Cristobal must have a good reputation since everyone is so shocked by his hiring. He didn't win. He got fired. The last group of coaches are showing you can build and get hired away from the Sun Belt, so I don't know if I'm buying Cristobal. Maybe things were worse than we knew at FIU.
The problem that I am worried about is competition getting an offensive minded coach competing against TTU, ASU, and USM that are all probably looking for the same thing.
i'm surprised there is so much talk about hiring an offensive-minded coach, or one that will run the spread. i remember the last time the coaching "search" focused on maintaining the exciting offensive style. we wound up with more years than i care to remember with an unproven offensive line coach.
just hire someone with the football knowledge and administrative abilities to lead a div 1 football team and let him hire the right staff.
do we have any position coaches on the staff whose dad coached college football?
I have read quite a few of these. Let me throw ya a curve ball....Dennis Dunn!!
Before you go crazy let me say a few things.
a) One of the best Air Raid spread coaches around (Learned from Mumme and Franklin)
b) Winning at a D3 that has 1200 students and nothing to attract good football players.
c) Been offered Northwestern State job (Rumored)
d) In his 50's and would probbly retire here unlike the other guys on the table who will leave in the next 3 to 4 years.
e)Would probably be great at recruiting the state, most of all the spread high school kids.
f) Has always been a winner..
Its just an opinion.
Take it easy on me ..first time poster..LOL
