I moved to Shreveport in 1977. I have missed only one game since...until this year. They could be on fire and I wouldn't piss on them. 17k tops for the attendance.

They really "screwed the pooch" this year. No more than 700 from Ohio, 7k from ULM (assuming promotions) & the rest locals. Most of the local season tix holders won'teven take the afternoon off for that matchup.

I hope you are correct. It couldn't happen to a nicer group of people.

Some outside source (banks, wealthy alums, etc..) have to have bought those tix first, before they can be given away. The university cannot give away what is considered state assets.

Our family has bought tickets and been a sponsor for the I-Bowl for awhile (code for I cannot remember when we started and I do not want to bring this subject up again with my mother). That ended this year. My mother is PISSED. She TOLD us that we are done with the I-Bowl.

They came damn close to filling their ~30k seat stadium for a regular season game with Baylor. I don't see any reason why they couldn't draw at least 30k for their first bowl game 1.5 hours away from "home".

FIFY I will guarantee they did not sell 30k seats for that game a large amount were freebies or super cheap ($5).

Bout time. I stopped attending/supporting back in the 90's when they screwed over us. Only I-Bowl I've been to since then is the one we played in.

FWIW, there is zero promotion going on in Shreveport for the game. The local new outlets appear to have no interest in this game. Unless things really change next week, which I dont really expect, this will be the worst attended IBowl ever. Tech continues to dominate the news.

I had a ULM fan tell me he ordered tickets from ULM and it was a terrible experience. The tickets they have are in the North endzone. If he ordered through the Independence Bowl he could have gotten in the south endzone and seen the board. They are rookies at this bowl thing and probably have ARAMARK selling tickets for them.

Maddawg is correct. C-USA will have 4 bowl tie-ins max next year. It could be less. I'll do the math later.
