Ask 100 random sports fans from the east coast what Louisiana Tech's mascot is and less than 10 will guess correctly. 5 of the correct guesses will be only because Bulldogs is the most overused mascot in college sports. LSU is the only national university from Louisiana, period.

nlu does have one point of distinction, The Ex-Lax Regularity Award for the fans immediately posting on BBB to spout any minor accomplishment in the Junior College Division.

This portion of the board reminds me of a joke (It is) about an Avon Salesperson in an elevator who just had to break wind. When she was finally left by herself, she let go. Then, when she realized the tremendous aroma that took over the small compartment, she immediately pulled out the most excellent air freshener and let her rip.
This was just in time because at the next floor the door opened and in steps a couple of people, and on they go toward the lobby. One of the new arrivals makes an odd face, so the Avon salesperson smile and acknowledges. The second newcomer turns and comments "what is that smell?" The Avon salesperson asks, "what do you think of it?"
The new occupant replied, "Smells like someone's been S#!Ting Christmas trees."
I'll leave it to you to "figger" out the allegory.
I understand and agree with that point. This bowl won't make a huge dent economically for the whole of Shreveport-Bossier. However, there are folks who believe the bowl itself will lose a lot of money and go under because of poor ticket sales. The majority of the tickets are "sold" (thanks to season-ticket holders and the allotment to the two teams) as soon as the teams are announced.

Correct. The bowl is protected.
The Indy Bowl has about 12,000 tickets distributed to corporate sponsors and season ticket holders.
ULM/Belch is responsible for their 15,000 allotment. Ohio/MAC is responsible for their 10,000 allotment.
That's 37,000 "tickets sold" before the match-up was publicly announced.
In the past, each conference with a tie-in has been responsible for 12,000 tickets each. That makes 36,000 tickets sold before the match-ups are announced.
