    What School would you want to see join CUSA if we need to fill holes?

    I am hoping it doesn't come to this but it is the offseason and we have to talk about something until recruitment starts and coaches are announced. If we lose Tulsa, UTEP and possibly Southern Miss what 3 school would you, if we had to, add to CUSA. If you have been following the CUSA message board there is some talk about Texas State, ULL, and Ark State.

    Part two:
    Just a question as a Tech fan i couldn't care less what name ULL/SLU/UL calls themselves. I know it drives the ULM folks crazy. What are everyone's thoughts.

    According to a previous thread, NMSU and WKU are "on deck." Beyond that... the first place I would go is to the MAC and see if any of those Ohio teams wants to separate themselves (Toledo and Akron previously showed interest, but I don't know where they would stand now). After that, ULL, then Arkansas State, then Texas State in that order probably. Unless you throw academics out the window, then maybe knock ULL down a peg or two.

    my preference is to only go to 12, not 14. no need to water down the product even more with zero interest jucos.

    if UTEP is gone there is no reason to get NMSU. WKU brings mens BB, but it brings questions of how to split the conference into divisions. ASU would be a good fit in the west, but they bring little to the conference. TSU brings nothing at all. ULL - see ASU above. ULM - see TSU above.


    i guess WKU would be best. stick them in the west and let them complain about not being with middle. if they won't come unless they are paired with MTSU, then go for ASU/ULL - doesn't matter which.

    The problem with going to 12 is the loss of a championship game for 2014 since Charlotte won't be ready. That might have TV contract ramifications. I think that's why they have kept with 14.

    The main reason C-USA has NMSU as #3 is defense or to keep the Sunbelt from getting an "established" FBS team. The other reasons are MBB and the excellent point made by Parialex of C-USA needing 12 football members.

    Where C-USA sits now is all about defense vs. the Sunbelt.

    ...and Scout, Lafayette's name issue is an issue for Tech. Hopefully, Tech and Dr. Guice won't put up with any BS regarding this issue. If it becomes a deal breaker for LaLaff, they'll go back to Southwestern if they need to. They want to be our beeotch instead of having LaMon as their's.

    If all this goes down and the MAC has any huevos we need to be worried about Marshall and WKU heading over there. If I were the MAC that's what I would try to do.
