With Boise and San Diego State staying in the MWC, that gives them 12. I don't see them going out of their footprint and taking any more teams. Why should they? None of their present members are going anywhere. The Big East could take USM, Tulsa and Tech to go to a 14 team conference when Navy joins in 2015. That works perfectly for 7 teams in the eastern time zone and 7 teams in the central time zone.

I'll agree with you that BSU & SDSU back to Mtn West. SMU & UH will not want to come back to CUSA because of the recent additions. UTEP & Tulsa could definately be swayed somewhere that they perceive as better. But you are forgetting that there still is UCONN, Cincy, USF, UCF, ECU, Memphis & Tulame out there in no man's land. If the Big Least does not survive...they are going to form a new conference. (They will need power programs for football ...LA Tech, USM and try for BYU & Navy). Rice is not going to be invited to the Mtn West. That is just crazy. So to summarize, everything is again up in the air.
Some comments from Tulsa president. Looks like they want MWC.

Does anyone know what our CUSA exit fee is?
Actually - you are crazy. They need some "power programs - LaTech... and try for BYU and Navy? Navy's already there. BYU has had an open offer on the table. And I love my dogs, but we're not seen as a power program... that's just an honest truth. And Rice has a very legitimate shot of playing in the MWC... the main reason UTEP never moved over was to maintain their connections to Texas. If Rice, Houston and SMU go - UTEP will go over as well, along with Tulsa. Rice Houston, SMU and UTEP gives the MWC a stronghold on Texas...
If Houston and SMU get an invite to the MWC noone will be protecting the Big East Nobodies.
With a couple of these terms, as an MWC president I would have voted to tell Boise to take a hike....
1) In its new agreement with the Mountain West, the league will ensure Boise State home football games are not part of any current or future Mountain West Conference wide television rights contract. The league will guarantee the rights to Boise State home football games that are sold as a separate package. The revenue from such Boise State home football games shall be retained by the Mountain West and added to the Mountain West media revenues to be disbursed in the same manner as all other league media revenues. Boise State and other football teams in the Mountain West who appear on national television (ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox) will be paid a bonus of $300,000 per game, with an additional $200,000 for a Saturday game.
2) Among other provisions in Boise State's new agreement with the league, the Mountain West will honor Boise State's existing non-conference scheduling commitments for future games and the league will not regulate Boise State's uniform colors or designs. Specifically the Bronco's will be permitted to wear all blue uniforms at home.
Nobody knows the day or the hour.
It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.
The MWC might just settle where they are. No need to split money with any more teams. Houston and SMU might not have a choice but to stay in the Big East, come back to CUSA, or form a new conference. All good scenarios for us....... If MWC does expand, ECU and Tulane will not be going. They will be hung out or come back to CUSA. I don't see this as a bad thing. I, for one, was glad to see BSU stick it to the Big East. I would have done the same thing, if I were them.
The least likely scenario now is the Big East raiding more CUSA teams. IMHO, they might not be able to convince anyone to join their unstable conference. Not saying it couldn't happen, but I don't see it as the option with the best chance like some do........
