Yep. That's what bowls are all about. Screw the players... how many fans can you bring to our city?

We need a playoff and I don't care if it is just 8 teams and everybody else stays home. At least that makes sense and I can live with not making the playoffs because my team wasn't good enough.

Sportsdawg tells me the conf USA tie end dies after this game ( Memphis is leaving) --if thats the case I have no reason to watch-- PS- dow was up 168 pts and sp up 24. So much for market crash because of fiscal cliff for year dow up from 12,217 to 13,105 and sp from 1217 to 1426. Happy New year Dog nation. I go home and watch grandkids --

Well, at least Iowa State fans, and the team, mostly, showed up for the Liberty Bowl. But....Purdue, where were you? The HoD Bowl would have faired better with 10K+ Tech fans and a team that would have least scared Okie State a little.....sheeesh!

I don't keep up with that crap too closely, the stupid tie-ins, I mean. So, the HoD Bowl has a B1G tie in, but not a Big 12 one? And T. Boone is affilated with that bowl? Something ain't right.

The bowl system sucks, as further illustrated by a 5-loss Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. Simply stoooopid.

It's Big 10 vs Big XII. The Liberty Bowl was going to trade Tech to the HOD Bowl for Iowa St. When NIU got the Orange Bowl it pushed Iowa State out of the HOD Bowl (and Oklahoma St in) and the Liberty picked Iowa St as an at-large team.
