...the bastards from LSU lost!
...the bastards from LSU lost!
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?
Dang, I am so sorry I didn't tune in the chicken bowl on the radio after the mbb coach's show. I'd have laughed all the way home ! ! !
3 minutes left. LSU has the ball. 3 passing plays in a row. 3 and out. Clemson had all 3 time outs. And good old Leslie. He did it again. I was laughing so hard. Every time This happens I'm astounded. He delights me. Made my New Year start out right. Clemson played a helluva game so they deserve it, but Les still can't tell time.
OK, lsu fans/haters, I need an explanation. It's never made sense to me why members of a TECH athletic fan site care more about lsu football wins/losses than live TECH sports action.
Why do you sit at home and watch TV when Bulldog Basketball has a great game going on in Ruston?
NadB, you and your wife have become some of our best fans. Y'all got into TECH basketball recently and have become big fans. You make a long drive to each game. Maybe you can help explain the joy of basketball to fans who won't make a short trip to the TAC.
To encourage attendance of those of you who don't normally attend, I will give two free tickets per game to the first person who 1) is a TECH fan, 2) lives within 40 miles of the TAC, and 3) has not attended a MBB game in over two seasons. Maybe the free tickets will get you started on a new passion - TECH's men basketball. PM if you meet the requirements for the tickets and have interest in attending. It's a new year, so make a resolution to try something new while supporting the school you love.
I live in Houston and basketball games are not a possibility; if I lived within 2 hours of Ruston, I'd make a game or three a month. I have never, repeat never, watched a LSU game in deference to any Louisiana Tech event. Finally, I am 56 and have never been a LSU fan at any level...I do not ever remember cheering for them, just enjoying their losses!

Our 11-3 team deserves much better support from the area than it is getting.
Good old Memorial Gym
You are not the reason I posted. There are so many "TECH" fans that live close enough to make games but sit at home. Last night one "TECH" grad and fan who normally attends MBB games with me decided watching lsu was more important to him. His ticket went unused. There were probably others who decided on watching lsu football on TV.
Then we have other "TECH" fans who live close but will not even try to make a game. That is why I offered free tickets as an incentive to get them to the game. It is fun just to be at the game and this team is especially exciting to watch. I hope some of them will become fans.
I am in Texas. MAN, I wished I lived closer to catch all the games. I will say that I had the CLEMSON game on mute last night, my laptop watching the Dawgs, and my iPad listening to the Techsters. I was yelling, hissing, cursing, and celebrating all at the same time. My dog didn't know if he should be excited or comforting. It was a crazy night. I got 2 out of my 3 games won, though. That aint bad! ;-)
Both were live, and it was football vs basketball. Football trumps everything and will win in that match every single time. We don't "care more about LSU" because for a lack of attending sports that aren't football. Personally, I don't care for basketball. It's not something I voluntarily watch. I'm not going to attend a second-tier sports game just because it is Tech. I have a strong inclination that that is how the majority of people feel.
Here's my challenge to you. Try MBB for just one game. You may have been there in the past and found it boring or not as exciting as football but this year's team is something you may get excited about.
I've got two front row tickets in Section 107 that are yours for the next home game, if you want them. You may want to bring earplugs since it gets rather loud. My offer of free tickets still stands for anyone else who meets the 3 stipulations noted above.
As my mother used to tell me, try it you'll like it. It didn't always happen but she was right about some things. I love liver and onions because I tried it. I wouldn't even consider trying banana pudding. We are all different.
I'd throw in Dowlings and a ride if it would help but I don't think you are the guy I'm hoping to get excited about basketball. My offer is intended for someone who wants to experience a good time and may return in the future on his own dime.
Time to do some marketing for this team. Problem is that our AD is afraid to market our MBB team w/out spending dollar for dollar on our black hole WBB team.
BVDV is afraid of his shadow!
